PROFILE OF RICHARD KASU, THE MAN BEHIND CFF-GHANA’S SUSTAINED GROWTH

Richard Kasu is a prominent Ghanaian civil rights activist, strategist, political analyst, writer and researcher with over 10years experience in elections including campaign strategy development, public accountability, youth development and community mobilization among others. He is also known for his impeccable track record in coalition building across the African Region. He is a Steering Committee Member of Ghana’s CSO Platform on the SDGs.
As a freelance development expert, Kasu has provided strategic expert advice to political actors, youth networks, community-based groups and civil society organizations (CSOs) among other allied institutions. He has also facilitated several training workshops, moderated panel discussions and serves as a speaker on pressing national and global issues.
Under his strategic direction, Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana), a development oriented Civil Society Organization was established with the vision of promoting human rights, good governance, electoral integrity, peace & security and public accountability in Ghana and beyond through evidence-based policy advocacy with the view of influencing policy decisions. He has developed several impactful projects and programs including the Citizens Participation and Accountability (CiPA) program, a strategic intervention designed to influence public policy and promoting government accountability and transparency in all spheres of national development.
CFF-Ghana’s operation span multiple African countries including Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda demonstrating a wide-reaching impact.
He’s known for his advocacy work on various national issues, including;
Good Governance: Kasu has been vocal about promoting transparency and accountability in government, particularly in the fight against illicit trade and corruption.
Electoral Reform: He has called for electoral reforms, urging the Electoral Commission of Ghana to ensure free and fair elections, and has condemned actions that undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
Anti-Corruption: Kasu has spoken out against corruption, including bribery and embezzlement, and has advocated for leaders to be held accountable for their actions.
Humanitarian Issues: He has also addressed humanitarian concerns, such as calling for humanitarian support for the people of DR Congo, Togo during their political upheavals and Niger Republic during the 2023 coup.
