Avatime-Dzogbefeme Readies For AMUFEST 2023 With Mega Float

The youth of Avatime-Dzogbefeme on Sunday, August 27, embarked on a massive float, announcing their preparedness to host this year’s edition of the annual Amu Festival.

The youth who were in ecstatic mood, went round all the seven Avatime communities amid drumming and dancing. The crowd began the float from Avatime-Dzogbefeme, through Avatime-Vane, Avatime-Amedzofe, Avatime-Biakpa, Avatime-Fume, Avatime-Dzokpe 1&2 and ended at Avatime-Gbadzeme. At each community, they met the traditional authorities to formally inform them about their readiness to host this year’s AMUFEST.
The teeming youth also paid a courtesy call on the overlord of the Avatime State, Osie Adza Tekpor VII, who offered them his blessings towards a successful celebration.

The Amu Festival is an annual festival celebrated by the Avatime people.
This year’s edition is slated for November 5th-12th, under the theme “Celebrating the Avatime Women (Kusakorkor) Through Mountain Brown Rice Culture and Ecotourism”.
The festival is expected to bring together citizens of Avatime from all walks of life.
