On Saturday, August 17th, 2024, the kingmakers and elders of Avatime Dzogbefeme, under the auspices of the Avatime Traditional Council in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, held a coronation ceremony to officially outdoor Onetsie Yaa Asabea Odzagbatete III. The vibrant event drew together friends, well-wishers, and fellow chiefs from the Avatime Traditional Area to witness the occasion.
The ceremony showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Avatime people, featuring a procession of the newly crowned queen, clad in traditional white attire, through the streets of Avatime Dzogbefeme, accompanied by cheers from the crowd.
In her acceptance speech, Onetsie Yaa Asabea Odzagbatete III urged the community to rally behind her in support of her developmental agenda, aimed at improving the lives of the people of Avatime Dzogbefeme and the broader Avatime community. The attending chiefs and elders pledged their support, to ensure her reign’s success.
Known in private life as Anthonia Krapah Asare, the newly crowned queen is a businesswoman renowned for her contributions to developmental initiatives in Avatime and her industrious efforts during the previous Avatime Amufest celebration, which caught the attention of the overlord of the Avatime Traditional Area, Osie Adza Tekpor VII.
