Avatime: Onetsie Yaa Asabea III Embarks on Community Development Initiatives: Eye Screening and Economic Empowerment Programs to Improve Lives

On September 13th, Her Majesty Queen Onetsie Yaa Asabea Odzagbatete III of Avatime Dzogbefeme, in partnership with Lifetime Well Vision & Friends Eye Center and Ho Municipal Center, organized a free eye screening program for the people of Avatime in Avatime Vane. This outreach initiative is part of the queen’s vision to support her community in Avatime and Ho West.

In an interview with gosagh.com, Queen Onetsie Yaa Asabea III shared her motivations for the program, stating that the eye screening is just the beginning. Those identified with serious eye issues will receive free surgery soon. The outreach program will also extend to other parts of Ho West, demonstrating the queen’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of her people.

Beyond healthcare, the queen is also focused on addressing unemployment in Avatime. She plans to establish a Gari factory, which will provide jobs and economic opportunities for the community. Recognizing that farming is a significant source of livelihood in Avatime, Queen Onetsie Yaa Asabea III aims to add value to raw cassava through processing, making farming more attractive and profitable for women and youth in the area.

The queen would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to Okusie Akoto V of Avatime Vane for his invaluable support during the eye screening program. His contributions and assistance were instrumental in the success of the initiative.

The queen’s initiatives demonstrate her dedication to the development and empowerment of her people, especially women. By addressing healthcare and economic challenges, she is paving the way for a brighter future in Avatime and Ho West.
