The kingmakers, chiefs and elders of Avatime-Vane on Saturday, October 15, 2023, held a colorful ceremony to outdoor Okusie Akoto V, as the chief of Avatime-Vane.
The well-attended event brought together the people Avatime, chiefs, friends and well wishers from far and near to witness the flamboyant occasion.
Also present at the occasion was the overlord of Avatime State, Osie Adza Tekpor VII, who gave his blessings to the new chief.
Osie Akoto V, in his acceptance speech admonished the people of to rally behind him for the development of Avatime-Vane and the Avatime State at large.
Brief Profile of Okusie Akoto V
Mr. Edmund Seth Kudjovi Addo, now Okusie Akoto V, was born on January 19, 1976, in Avatime-Vane to Mr Vincent Eduku Addo and Ms Betty Doe. He spent his formative years in Avatime-Vane with her Aunty Nora Adzoa Addo of blessed memory and had his Primary Education at Vane. He later relocated to Vakpo, her mother’s hometown, to continue his Junior High School and Senior Secondary School Education. After his secondary education, he was admitted to E. P. Training College, Amedzofe in 1995 and graduated with Teacher’s Certificate “A’ in 1998 and was posted to Volta North where he taught from 1998 –2004. His quest for further education took him to the University of Cape Coast from 2004-2008 for his Bachelor in Basic Education degree. After obtaining his degree he was posted to Kade in the Eastern Region as the Head Teacher of a Basic School from 2008-2010. After teaching for a while, he again gained admission into University of Cape Coast to pursue an M.Phil. program in Educational Administration and Planning from 2010-2012. After successfully completing this program and obtaining the M.Phil. degree, he decided to relocate to the United States of America (U.S.A) for greener pastures. While in the U.S. specifically in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, he worked at several places until 2016 when he decided to enter the field of Laboratory Animal Research. There he perused short courses to become Biomedical Researcher and specialized in experimental data analysis with Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He developed a strong edge during these years to understand how the human mind works, what accounts for individual differences and why people behave differently. This interest led him to Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts in 2020 where he obtained a master’s degree in education with concentration in Mental Health and worked as CBHI Clinician with Mentor South Bay that is in Boston Massachusetts as contract staff.
Okusie Akoto V has a wonderful family and blessed with three children. He also has good friends, and all together have made him who he is today. Everything good he has today emanated from his family and these good friends.
Okusie Akoto V as a human, also experienced some challenges in life and these life experiences have tested his skills and personality but Almighty God has seen him through all those challenges and has learnt wonderful lessons.
Good days gave him happiness, bad days gave him experiences which are all essential in life. Successes have kept him going and failures have always taught him lessons and made him humble.
