HRM Togbegã Osei Tutu VII, the newly installed Paramount Chief of the Matse Traditional Area, has officially led a delegation from the Matse Traditional Council to the Jubilee House to invite President John Dramani Mahama to the funeral rites of the late Paramount Chief, Togbegã Osei Tutu VI.
The delegation, made up of Togbe Teiku V, Togbe Danku, Chief of Army Staff Lawrence Gbetanu, Ho Central Member of Parliament Edem Kpotosu, Volta Regional NDC Chairman Mawutor Agbavitor, and other members of the traditional council, was received by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, together with Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, on behalf of the President.
The visit was to formally announce the funeral arrangements and officially invite the President to attend the final funeral rites of the late Paramount Chief, which are scheduled to commence on May 18 and continue through to the end of May.
According to the delegation, the funeral is expected to bring together chiefs, political leaders, family members, residents, and well-wishers from across the country to pay their last respects to the late Togbegã Osei Tutu VI for his service, leadership, and contributions to the development of the Matse Traditional Area.
The meeting at the Presidency also highlighted the importance of collaboration between traditional authorities and government in promoting peace, unity, and development within communities.
The appearance of Togbegã Osei Tutu VII at the Jubilee House marks his first major public engagement since his recent coronation as Paramount Chief of the Matse Traditional Area.
