Plans Are Underway To Revive Kpedze Market – Ho MCE

The Ho Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Divine Bosson, has revealed that plans are far advanced to revive the Kpedze market.

Hon. Bosson made this known in an address delivered during the launch of the 3rd edition of Kpedze Youth Homecoming Festival held over the weekend at Ho, GNAT Hall.

The MCE noted that, the collapse of the Kpedze market has taken away the glory of the town.

He recounted his days as a student of KPESCO two decades ago when the town was bustling with commercial activities.

The Kpedze market, which used to be one of the busiest in the Volta Region and attracted traders from all over the region and neighboring  Togo, has gone dormant for several years now.

According to Hon. Bosson, he has been working assiduously since he assumed office, with support from the DCE for Ho-West to ensure the good old days of Kpedze is restored through trade.

He said they have made a petition to the Ministry of Trade & Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make the barrier between Ghana and Togo at Kpedze more flexible to allow the easy flow of goods from Togo into the market. This petition he said, has been approved but the bottleneck however lies with the National Security.

The MCE is optimistic the green light shall be given soon.

The Kpedze market, when revived, will go a long way in improving the livelihoods of the people.
