Visual Flamboyance on Display as Tsito Marks Palm Sunday Street Carnival
The streets of Awudome-Tsito in the Volta Region were full of visual flamboyance as the people marked their annual Palm Sunday Street Carnival dubbed “Tedzidodo”.
The people of Tsito are gradually gaining popularity for their unique way of celebrating Palm Sundays and this year’s edition was no exception.
The colorful event brought together thousands of people from far and near bringing the town to a standstill. The joyous crowd marched through the principal streets of Tsito amid drumming, singing and dance.
One of the major highlights of the day was the artistic face paintings and ‘crazy’ fashion styles.
Patrons of the event got their faces painted with stunning designs by students of the Visual Art Department of Awudome Senior High School.
In an interview with gosagh.com, some of the students who took part in the face painting expressed their gratitude to the organizers for giving them the opportunity to exhibit their talents.
