Volta Region: VDF Pays Working Visit to IHDN Hospital

Executives of the Volta Development Forum (VDF), on Wednesday, 14th February, paid a working visit to the International Health and Development Network ( IHDN ) Hospital in the Volta Region to explore development collaboration.

The ultra modern hospital is located around Agbozume, and was established by Dr. Edem Agama, a US based medical practitioner with the support of the International Health and Development Network, a non-profit.

The VDF team was led by Mr Daniel Agboka Dzegede, the Executive Director, as they toured the facility, situated on a 23 acre plot.

Mr. Dzegede was in the company of Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, a former Deputy Regional Minister for Volta who is in charge of marketing at the VDF, and Mr. Courage Dei-Zanga, who is the  Secretary  – Science & Technology Committee, VDF.

The Hospital has all the facility to standard medical care, and specializes in cancer treatment.

According to Dr. Agama, the equivalent costs in excess of 100,000 dollars, making the laboratory one of its kind in the country.

He said the support of stakeholders was therefore required in providing the needed Internet infrastructure.

Plans by the hospital management to establish a community radio station dedicated to health promotion in the enclave were also made known to the VDF, and an appeal was made for support in acquiring a broadcast licence.
