Abutia-Agove Outdoors New Asafo Chief
The kingmakers, chiefs and elders of Abutia-Agove have outdoored Togbe Awunu Akplornudeka as the new Asafo chief.
The colourful ceremony held on Wednesday, June 28, brought together the people of Abutia from far and near, friends and well wishers.
The Abutia Asafo troupes were also in full display, showcasing the rich culture of the Abutia people.
According to the kingmakers, the ‘Asafo fia’ seat became vacant for several years now after the passing away of Togbe Asafo Adjei and it is now the turn of Togbe Awunu, who they described as the ‘rightful owner’ of the seat.
The various chiefs and Asafo groups who graced the occasion have declared their unflinching support to him.
In his acceptance speech, Togbe Awunu pledged his commitment to the throne and called on the youth to rally behind him for the development of Abutia-Agove and Abutia as a whole.
Togbe Awunu Akplornudeka, known in private life as Donkor Kodzo Albert, is a 23 year-old officer of the Ghana Prisons Service.
